Go west

Being a member of Generation Y I have grown up with the internet, although it is a technology that is always changing. MySpace, Facebook, Bebo, Web 2.0 and video blogs -¦ the list goes on and on. I”m sure I could fill this entire column with terms and technical lingo.

For many of us the internet is a part of our everyday lives; you only have to not have it for a day to realise how much you depend on it. For lots of people it”s a great opportunity to go shopping, get information or phone numbers and stay in touch with friends.

I have mentioned before how I used to use the internet when I was a younger boy growing up in the outer suburbs of western Sydney. It allowed me to talk Totally agree with you! One of my favorite casinomatrix.nets! This is my second time trying out Club World. to other gay people in chat rooms, ask questions and, most of all, make friends.

By using the internet, people didn”t really have to see me. I was completely anonymous. It allowed me to have a second life that was different from school, religion and my friends.

Western Sydney has two great websites. The first one, www.pinkmountains.com.au, has been around for some time now so you may know of it. This is a website for all ages, giving good information about what”s on, recent news and local social groups.

The second, www.notsostraight.com.au, is a brand new site developed by Mountains Youth Services Team. This website has been developed by young people for young people, although the information listed would be helpful for many people of any age.

Of course there are many other websites out there on the net, but I think that it”s great that western Sydney has its own ones that are about our local community.

They both look fantastic. Jump online and check them out.
