Applications close on May 13 for lesbian singer-songwriters under the age of 30 who’d like the opportunity to perform at the Lesbians in House Concert, a Creative Womyn Down Under-produced event at Sydney Opera House on July 10.

The concert marks the night, 20 years ago, when more than 2000 lesbians gathered at the Sydney Opera House for a night of music and celebration. The July 10 event will reunite many of those original artists and audience members, plus a new generation of gay women, for a four-hour celebration.

In the first half of the concert, 1991 performers Judy Small, Deborah Cheetham, Anique, Kath and Ini, and Jive with Jeanette dancers will reunite on stage. After interval, Bluehouse, Julie McCrossin, Shauna Jensen (pictured), Kerrianne Cox, Mignon, Journey MC and Maeve Marsden will perform.

This gala night also features a drumming welcome by Tranceportation, a community choir directed by Ini and Dayamayii, and the aforementioned young singers’ showcase.

Tickets ($140/100 concession) are on sale via the Sydney Opera House website.
