Anti-gay preacher drowned out by street buskers on day of Mardi Gras Parade
A YOUTUBE video of street busker Axel Winter, with the help of other buskers, at Sydney’s Pitt Street Mall drowning out a religious preacher who took to a step-ladder to verbalise his homophobic opinion hours before the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade has gone viral.
Winter, an aspiring singer, wrote the following on his Facebook page after the incident:
Yesterday, a man tried to yell hateful religiously inspired things about gay people in Pitt Street Mall. So, myself and the other buskers moved my stuff behind him and drowned out his negativity. The crowd cheered and sang along and soon enough he was gone.
Thank you Sydney for taking a stand for equality.
Whether you’re homosexual or transgender or even just confused, you’re still my friend.

It is reasonable to deduce that they think homosexuality is something special perhaps, should be exempted from the grinding away and vilification they perform on others in society.

We see it in the manner of use of the military and police by government, we see it in the murdering of people supposedly threatening or disobeying police. I have known some tragic, seedy, predatory homosexuals of both sexes but none deserved the self-justifying bashings inflicted on them by such vicious people. One should think in my view of homosexuals as perhaps a loved family member but with whom you should be able to speak out against excesses…like prancing about at the ‘Mardi-Gras’ or giving blow jobs in a public lavatory…the latter which I have witnessed and found repulsive when simply going for the reason ‘normal’ people go there.

One doesn’t have to be homophobic to be against displays of homosexual self-indulgence. Heterosexuals groping and ‘dry-rooting’ in parks during say, business lunch breaks or on weekends, are also confronting to a lot of people.

Some who totally reject male homosexuality get off watching women having sex together…unfortunately as with ‘multiculturalism’ all governments have failed dismally in having no profound and empathetic public discussions on these situations so the truism arises relentlessly ‘what you fear you cannot love’ .
It may well be that some or even many people ARE bible twits, sexist, racist, misogynist, or even homophobic but it gratuitous use by people as a vilification against people who have an opinion against aspects of social behaviour and particularly perhaps against political handcuffing of them to some fashionable or vote catching or ‘globalised’ latest fad.
Many of us change our outlook after researching, confrontation, mellowing and other ‘change-agents’. Political fads and not being in favour of…even strongly against homosexual political pressure should not see them enduring abuse any more than any homosexual going about his or her business, having an opinion to argue but with respect to the evolved community which may see a deterioration of achievements so far through the clamour of homosexual activists and their somewhat myopic heterosexual supporters.
In closing…your treatment of that preacher an support of it is nothing to brag about, and when you claim ‘inciting hatred’ do you not think that for many people the ‘Gay Mardi Gras’ is not a provocation? Voila.

This is Matthew Bagnall, I went to court last month with my friends to have a restraining order put on him. He and his friend David Sester have harassed them in their Buda shop twice, screaming Hateful homophobic scriptures towards them and local people. A very sick individual
I think it would have been more helpful for people to listen to his vile message then to drown him out.
