Elders’ project gets funds

An aged care provider on the New South Wales Central Coast has received Commonwealth funding for its LGBTI Elders’ Wellbeing Project.

Evergreen Life Care Limited is attempting to deliver health and wellness programs to LGBTI people aged over 65 across five geographical regions of NSW – Far North Coast, Central Coast, Hunter, Inner West and Blue Mountains.

Evergreen CEO Ted Coupe said he was pleased that the organisation will be delivering a project plan to sustain and improve the aged care services offered to this special needs group.

“This funding will allow for us to work collaboratively with a range of community and health services, social groups and aged care providers to implement a program to promote the needs and concerns of LGBTI elders,” Coupe said.

The organisation will hire an LGBTI project officer to help implement the plan.
