Brisbane’s ‘Gay Out: Block Party’ Is The New Gay Party On The Block

For many years, Big Gay Day at the Wickham Hotel has been one of Brisbane’s most iconic LGBTQIA+ celebrations, drawing thousands from across South East Queensland and beyond as they take over the streets of Fortitude Valley for Brisbane’s biggest street party.
When news broke that Big Gay Day would take a well-earned break in 2026, many were disappointed – but that didn’t last long.
Event producer Harry K has stepped in to keep the party going, unveiling Gay Out: Block Party on Sunday, October 4 at the Wickham Hotel, just in time for the King’s Birthday long weekend celebrations.
Known for producing high-energy events with a welcoming vibe, Harry K is bringing his signature style to the venue with a full day of live performances and DJs.
The lineup of entertainment features some of our favourite queer performers from around the country, including DJ’s and drag superstars. Beverly Kills, star of Drag Race Down Under season two, will host the day, which will also feature one of her season two sisters, Kween Kong who will take to the stage for what is sure to be a stellar performance.
They are joined by a stellar line up of DJ’s including Jesse Boyd [MEL], Alvyon [SYD], Nic Holland [SYD], Kayty Banks, DJ Donna and WDJ40. Headlining the live music for the day will be Aussie pop superstar Samantha Jade, who will be performing live on stage as she returns to Brisbane once again.
Gay Out will be a chance for the community to gather, reconnect, and celebrate everything that makes Brisbane’s queer community vibrant and resilient. Big Gay Day may be resting, but with the Gay Out: Block Party on the calendar, the spirit of celebration is alive and well, loud, proud, and ready to dance.
And for those who aren’t quite ready to call it a night at 9pm? The official Gay Out after-party kicks off at the Warehouse from 9pm til late.
