The future of the financially-troubled ALSO Foundation and Alsocare will be discussed tomorrow night at a community forum at the Also Fabulous Opportunity Shop.

In a joint letter from the ALSO Foundation and Alsocare, they said both organisations had undergone great changes in the past two years.

“You will also be aware that significant deficits in recent years have left us in a difficult financial position,” the letter said.

“In response, to this both ALSO and Alsocare have now returned to almost entirely volunteer operations.

“We have moved the office from City Village to the Alsofabulous [sic] shop in Smith Street and will continue a reduced program there until a suitable office space is available.

“This means we have to give serious consideration to the future direction and activity our organisations should take.”

The letter said everything ALSO had done when the organisation started had been done by members, as it called for a “much more energised and active membership”.

The meeting starts at 7pm at the Also Fabulous Op Shop, 328 Smith Street, Collingwood on Tuesday, September 4.
