Council seeks sound advice
Darebin City Council is seeking expressions of interest from local residents to join a new LGBTI advisory committee.
The Council said the same-sex attracted and gender diverse advisory committee will be established to promote inclusiveness in the area.
The committee will meet quarterly to advise Council on issues affecting LGBTI people in the area.
Expressions of interest close on January 27.
The new committee will be announced sometime during the Midsumma Festival which ends on February 5.
The committee follows a similar initiative up and running in Hobsons Bay City Council in Melbourne’s west.
Darebin takes in the suburbs of Northcote, Fairfield, Reservoir and Bundoora.
