Dolly’s 9-5
G’day,
It’s Australia Day weekend and you are literally spoilt for choice. Yes, I’m British but I most definitely call Australia home and I’ll be getting my Aussie on. I’ll be baking lamingtons and listening to Kylie all weekend. Actually, I pretty much do that every weekend come to think of it.
Goodnight, Australia x

Vieux Carre
Forty Five Downstairs
Melbourne
Until February 3
This slightly lesser known Tennesse Williams play is on until February 3 as part of the Midsumma Festival. Set in the 1930’s, Vieux Carre tells the story of a young gay man who leaves his family and hometown behind to live in a boarding house in New Orleans. He witnesses the lives of the other tenants and their longings, depravities and hunger for human connection. I went along on the opening night and loved it. Top notch acting with some of Melbourne’s best blues musicians.

Australia Day
Escape – Gold Coast
Saturday 26 January
I told you about this event a few weeks ago but it’s worth another mention because it’s going to be one hell of an Australia Day party. Martini Ice will be there to host the day and she has some very sexy boys on hand to keep everyone entertained. There will be pools on the deck and a great Aussie bbq and music. This is the perfect time to dig out your Aussie singlets and bikinis and slide into your thongs. Feel free to glam them up a bit or just go the full bogan.
Aussie Aussie Aussie! Oi Oi Oi!

Red Rattler Theatre
Friday 25 January
In Pursuit of Glamour needs your support at a fundraising event hosted by the Red Rattler Theatre. The show is trying to get some money together for its Mardi Gras season. These shows don’t come cheap, especially when it’s Dallas Dellaforce – all that glitter! It’s a night full of entertainment and the tickets are really cheap considering all the entertainment you’re getting. Do your bit and go along to a night at the theatre.
