Federal MP Craig Laundy office calls the cops after receiving glitter in the mail
MARRIAGE equality activists from lobby group GetUp! have caused red faces for the office of Reid federal Liberal MP Craig Laundy today, when an express post envelope filled with glitter was mistaken for a “suspicious package”.
“The emergency response today when my staff found a suspicious package in our PO Box was tremendous,” Laundy’s office, based in the inner-west Sydney suburb of Burwood, posted on Facebook.
“It has since been discovered that it was a stupid stunt by GetUp.”

The package was sent by the organisation after the Coalition decided not to allow a free vote for its MPs on marriage equality.
Similar packages, also filled with glitter, where sent to all government MPs, including those who opposed the free vote or marriage equality.
“Luckily, the other 98 MPs and senators who received a letter from GetUp members aren’t quite so afraid of glitter,” GetUp! said in a statement.
“One even just sent some back
“Sorry if this letter made a bit of a mess in your office. But the thing is, you made more than a bit of a mess in Australia last week.
“Please, no more delays. It’s time for marriage equality in Australia.”

When a federal election is coming up, I am just going to NOT VOTE or any of them and put a great big line through both the green and white ballot sheets! In 2015, it is time for FULL 100% MARRIAGE EQUALITY!
