Carl Cox will join David Guetta and Bimbo Jones at this year’s Mardi Gras party.

Also on the set list announced by Mardi Gras this week is Dusty Kid in the Hordern, Australian dance icons Itch-e and Scratch-e with break-out Sydney band Chaingang live in the Forum, and a host of other DJS.

The Hordern will be transformed into a palace of techno and progressive house, with world number one DJ Carl Cox getting behind the decks. Cox has been voted the best DJ of the past 25 years by Mixmag, and his acclaimed Carl Cox & Friends nights, which have included people like Fatboy Slim and Fedde Le Grand, have attracted thousands of partygoers around the world.

Following in Cox’s legendary footsteps, and following his set in the Hordern is Italy’s Dusty Kid.

Releasing his first single at the age of 19, in two short years he’s forced his phenomenal tracks such as ‘The Cat’ and ‘Milk’ into the tracklists of DJs around the world. Openly gay, he will spin alongside DTPM legend Alan Thompson and Sydney’s favourite Scott Pullen.

The Forum will feature a blend of electro, nu-disco and live performances with Australian dance pioneers Itch-e and Scratch-e — the prodigious partnership of Paul Mac and Andy Rantzen — whose ’90s smash ‘Sweetness and Light’ launched Paul Mac’s career, and who are reunited for the first time in 15 years.

Joining them are Chaingang, a Sydney band whose energy and whirling Siouxie-style howls will have you enthralled, as well as a rambunctious line-up of the most rockin’ alternative DJs Australia has to offer including the mind-boggling diversity of DJ Gemma, and the eclectic electro and house of Sveta.

In the Dome will be Paris’ own Leomeo — in Sydney last year for Extra Dirty — as well as Mardi Gras legend Ben Drayton, the always enticing Mandy Rollins and the irresistible sounds of Steve Sonius.
