CoastOut vies for Australia Day honours
Coffs Harbour’s gay and lesbian beach festival CoastOut will be in the running for the local council’s 2012 Australia Day Awards this week.
CoastOut will go up against the BCU Coffs Coast Cycle Challenge in the Community Event of the Year category.
The nominees were announced earlier this month at a ceremony held at Coffs Harbour City Council’s chamber foyer.
CoastOut is an arts, sport, and cultural festival celebrating the diversity of the gay and lesbian community, and is the first beach festival of its kind.
This year’s CoastOut will be held from October 26-28.
Coffs Harbour’s Australia Day Award Ceremony will be held from 10am on Thursday.
