Gender Centre spreads Xmas cheer

The Gender Centre will hold their annual Christmas party on Sunday December 14 to give clients and friends an opportunity to get in the Christmas spirit.

This year the event will be a catered luncheon. The party is a much-loved event, giving those who are not in touch with family an opportunity to celebrate.

It is a social day where people enjoy a meal and celebrate together. It is often a chance for people to get into the Christmas spirit, as they will not be celebrating with friends and family on the day due to circumstances in their lives that place them in socially disadvantageous situations, Gender Centre coordinator Phinn Borg explained.

Previous events have seen participants rather cramped but this year the event will be held off-site as the offices do not have enough space for people to socialise. So we’re hoping the move will allow people to enjoy the event even more.

This event is for people over 16 and has a no-alcohol policy.

info: The Gender Centre Christmas party is at the Joseph Sargeant Community Centre, 60 Prospect St, Erskineville, December 14, 12.30pm.
