Get Sweaty on a Kooky weekend

If you’re planning on popping on your dancing shoes this weekend, styling your hair and hitting the scene there’s plenty to choose from.

Why not start Friday night off at the Harbour City Bears den night at the Oxford Hotel from 9pm or the Taxi Club’s Make Me A Drag Queen from 9.30pm.

Arq will get the girls Moist from 9pm and Palms will play that daggy disco music it is loved from 8pm.

It will prove the perfect warm up for Sweat on Saturday which will take over Phoenix from 10pm (entry is only $10 before 11pm and $20 afterward!).

And there are still a handful of tickets left for Chunky at the Clarence Hotel on Saturday night – you can grab them at the door.

For those seeking some drag entertainment, Sydney Star Observer columnist Maxi Shield will star in Hard at the Midnight Shift from midnight.

And girls, don’t forget the Red Rattler’s first birthday party or the Pussycat Club at the Oxford Hotel from 9pm.

If you want to be entertained on Saturday night, don’t forget Slide’s critically acclaimed El Circo show.

Those looking for something off the strip can try Club Kooky with DJ Seymour Butz at the Jets Club in Tempe.

Still out the next morning? Don’t forget the Rising day club at Phoenix, or the always pumping Colombian Hotel.

If you are one of the lucky people who don’t have to work on Monday, Arq’s Sunday line-up will feature a guest performance by former Australian Idol Cosima De Vito from 9pm. Why not head there after a few ales at the Lord Roberts Hotel with the Bears on Sunday crowd.

Loose Ends opens at Phoenix at 10pm if you are still in the mood to party hard, or those looking for a few evening ales with a room full of men can check out Saddle Bar – and perhaps even become a member.
