Lesbian funding available

New South Wales lesbian groups are now being urged to throw their hat in the ring for a chance to win financial backing this year.

Lesbians Incorporated — a community group which offers financial help to lesbians and lesbian-friendly organisations — is encouraging groups to apply for funding over the next few months.

Groups can apply for grants of up to $1000, or larger one-off grants of up to $10,000.

Smaller grants may be applied for at any time, however, the deadline for the larger grants is August 31. Recipients will be announced on October 8 on International Lesbian Day.

Since 2000 Lesbians Incorporated’s community grants scheme has distributed more than $75,000 to community projects.

The group was established to help lesbian organisations grow.
