Mardi Gras two-for-one ticket deal

Mardi Gras two-for-one ticket deal

Mardi Gras party tickets went on sale today with a surprise two-for-one offer.

The discounted tickets sold out in a matter of hours.

Punters who bought one full-price ticket for $125 received another ticket for free. That put the price of each ticket at around $63.

Around 1,000 people snapped up tickets before the offer ended. The price is now $99 per ticket for limited time.

Once they sell out, tickets will be $125 per person.

Meanwhile, New Mardi Gras members will pay $79. That’s $36 less than they paid last year.

Party ticket prices have been slashed in an attempt to get more people joining the organisation and more people to the party.

New Mardi Gras chair Marcus Bourget said the organisation realised prices are starting to become a major issue.

We recognise this fact and are committed to having a cost-effective party for our members and non-members, Bourget said.

Some critics blamed the poor turnout at October’s Sleaze party on the $119 entry fee.

Bourget hoped the low ticket prices would encourage people to join the organisation, which would help raise revenue.

New Mardi Gras also announced they will be selling platinum party tickets for $170. Full details are yet to be revealed, though it’s believed the price will include access to VIP areas at the party.

Tickets are on sale at Ticketek with the party scheduled for Saturday 4 March.

Membership costs $45, or $29 for those under 25, concession card holders and overseas visitors.
