MCC welcomes new pastor

Rev Gavin Ward was officially installed as pastor of MCC Sydney on Sunday in front of a crowd of about 130 people.

Regional Elder Ken Martin travelled from the US to conduct the ceremony and spoke of renewal and the possibilities of the future.

The celebration also included a baptism, Ward’s first since he was ordained last November. He said it was wonderful to be able to celebrate both together.

Ward was approved by the Church’s board of directors two months ago after an international search for a new pastor.

MCC Sydney’s former youth pastor Rev Jonathan Jones was also in town after completing service for MCC churches in Anchorage, Alaska and Edinburgh, Scotland.
