New Dykes on Bikes team
The new Dykes on Bikes committee members were elected at last weekend’s annual general meeting.
Annette (Neddy) Mesure was elected as president, Nic Fletcher as vice-president, and Jodie Behringer as secretary.
Cheryl (Webby) Webster was voted in as treasurer, Lyn Doherty as media officer and Cass Naylor was appointed to merchandising.
The ride leaders will be Lyn Kelly, Wendy Pudney, Melinda Bell-Towns and Michelle Hobbins.
Newly elected president Annette Mesure said she felt she had served her apprenticeship and was ready to take the next step.
“After three years as club secretary I feel ready to move into the role of president,” she said.
“2008 will be a great year for the club with our 20th anniversary and the 30th anniversary for Mardi Gras. We are looking forward to getting in contact with as many of the original members as possible this coming year and making our next year, and especially the Mardi Gras parade, the biggest and best ever.”
Outgoing president Lisa Usher did not stand for re-election due to work commitments.
The charities to which Dykes on Bikes will be donating throughout the year include Luncheon Club, Doggie Rescue and the Gay and Lesbian Counselling Service. The group will still be involved in charity rides, such as Pink Ribbon Ride for Breast Cancer Research and the Sydney Toy Run.
