NSW Parliament debates same-sex adoption today

The NSW Parliament will debate Clover Moore’s same-sex adoption bill today.

It is expected the debate will take place this afternoon some time after 2.15pm.

The week leading up to the debate has seen intense lobbying by both sides, with conservative Christians and parliamentarians holding a rally in the NSW Parliament theatrette.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the Rev Fred Nile and Liberal David Clarke MLC made the claim at this event that allowing same-sex couples to adopt would result in a rise in abortions by women who did not want their unwanted children raised by same-sex couples.

Moore has amended the bill to allow church run adoption agencies to refuse to assist same-sex couples in the hope this will make the bill more palatable to conservative MPs.

It is understood that Labor MP Frank Sartor is seeking a further amendment which would allow parents offering up children for adoption to refuse to have them placed with same-sex couples without being in breach of NSW Anti-Discrimination laws.

  1. Surely people who would rather kill their unborn children rather than have them cared for and loved by a same sex couple should not be having children anyway.

It is also funny that the people who are making the most fuss about this are the people who like to have sex the most with little children i.e the catholic church. In fact they like sex with children so much that they have been bankrupted in some countries by lawsuits.

What is also funny is that the word ‘priest’ is actually an acronym for peadophile resident in every small town.
