Prison for Middle East ‘gay wedding’
A United Arab Emirates court has sentenced 26 men who attended a gay wedding party to five years in jail.Police arrested the men at the party late last year, claiming they found some men dressed as brides and others in male dress, 365Gay.com reported.They charged the revellers with homosexuality, although none was having sex when the police arrived.Following the arrests, a UAE official said the men might receive male hormone injections as punishment.The court made no mention of hormone treatment when it sentenced the men last week.The case follows arrests at a similar party in the UAE earlier in 2005. The men who attended that event received lashings and were later released from prison.
