Balls OUT Bingo has become a fixture on Queensland’s LGBTQIA+ calendar, turning the community hall game into a rowdy night of drag, live performance, singalongs, cheeky callbacks and prizes. Not to mention a cheeky ball boy on hand to reveal something special for guests at every event. Hosted by cabaret favourite Candy Surprise, the events create a space where everyone can laugh, play and celebrate together in a night of fabulous fun and entertainment.

The packed Pride season schedule kicks off with a range of events across Brisbane and beyond; it all begins on September 24 with a Pride Edition at the Jindalee Hotel. Candy heads to Beach House Coomera on Friday September 25 for another Pride Edition from 7.30pm.

On Saturday September 26, Wynnum Bowls Club hosts the biggest Balls OUT Bingo of the celebrations. Candy is joined by Hovanna Crown and Katya Louking for three queens, bigger prizes and even more chaos. The party continues on Sunday September 27 at Come to Daddy, where Candy’s monthly bingo supports the Brisbane Hustlers. Five dollars from every ticket goes to the inclusive rugby club, giving the laughter a community purpose.

There is more than bingo in Candy’s bag of tricks. On Wednesday September 30, she takes over Flagstone Tavern for Candy’s 80s Trivia Night. The event features five rounds spanning music, movies, television and Australian nostalgia, cash prizes for the top three teams and a prize for the best big-haired outfit.

October opens on Friday October 2 with Balls OUT Bingo at Duporth Tavern in Maroochydore. The Pride Editions return to Beach House Browns Plains on Friday October 9.

With events stretching from Brisbane’s west to the bayside, Logan, the Sunshine Coast and Hervey Bay, Balls OUT Bingo makes Pride season accessible beyond the inner city. Its continuing popularity comes from the winning combination of friendly competition, proudly queer entertainment and a night of fierce, fabulous and camp entertainment!
Book early, these balls have a habit of drawing a crowd.

LGBTQIA+ media is under threat. Queer content is censored by tech conglomerates who amplify bigotry and push out AI slop — so we receive less financial support than ever.

When our community is muzzled and intolerance intensifies, we need queer media more than ever. Your donation means we can continue paying queer journalists to write queer news.
