The seventh annual multicultural dance party, United We Dance, has raised $3300 for the Victorian Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby.

The money will be used to continue ongoing work in the area of equal rights for the Victorian GLBTI community.

Lobby co-convenor Hayley Conway said the organisation was pleased with the donation.

-œIt was a great night and we’re very thankful to the organisers and performers for such an amazing event, she said.

Money raised will be used to generate a new version of the Not Yet Equal report in the first half of 2009, to help the VGLRL identify areas of need in the community.

Conway said the report will focus on areas in the community overlooked in past reports.

-œAs is appropriate with funds that have come from United We Dance, we are targeting groups that we have previously received less response from, including ethnic groups, she said.
