New interim GM for JOY
Melbourne GLBTI radio station JOY94.9 has appointed an interim general manager.
A former ministerial head of staff, Tass Mousaferiadis (pictured) has been appointed to the four-month position by a selection committee appointed by the JOY board.
JOY president David McCarthy informed JOY members of the appointment via email last night, saying Mousaferiadis had a strong policy and management background in the public sector with an emphasis on health and a strong commitment to gay and lesbian rights.
Mousaferiadis – who will commence the role on July 1 – will replace outgoing GM Danae Gibson who will take up a similar post at Melbourne Queer Film Festival.
McCarthy said the station will advertise the position and appoint a permanent general manager to start before the end of October.
A part-time volunteer manager will also be appointed in the coming weeks.
