Song of the Week: Sam Smith covers Whitney Houston
BRITISH singer Sam Smith’s rising stardom went up a notch in the past week when a YouTube video of him covering Whitney Houston’s How Will I Know emerged and amassed over two and a half million views since in a week.
Smith, who recently publicly confirmed he was gay, has been making waves around the world in the past few months. He has already won a Brit award, the UK’s equivalent to the Grammys and ARIA Awards, and his current single Stay With Me has reached #1 in the UK and Canada and #5 in Australia and the US.
His debut album In The Lonely Hour also reached #1 in the UK and #2 here and in the US, and top 10 in other global music charts.
