SSO 1000th edition out tomorrow afternoon

Don’t forget your copy of tomorrow’s Sydney Star Observer will be delayed by about 12 hours.

The 1000th issue will be launched at 6pm on Wednesday at Taylor Square.

“One thousand issues is a significant milestone in any publication’s history,” SSO Media publisher Scott Abrahams said.

“But to be celebrating it at a time when so many other gay publications around the globe are closing down makes this an especially proud moment.

“Add to that the fact we are publishing our 1000th issue in the same year we are celebrating our 30th anniversary, and you have what is turning out to be a very special, very exciting year for Australia’s oldest and widest circulating gay and lesbian newspaper.”

The 1000th issue will be launched by a very special guest and will include messages from some of the country’s most significant gay and lesbian community members, organisations and community supporters.

“We’d like to encourage everyone to come along to the launch at Taylor Square on their way home from work next Wednesday,” SSO Media chairman Daniel Bone said.

“SSO always has and always will pride itself on its community commitment and focus. We can’t think of a better group of people to share this with than the readers who continue to support us week after week.”

info: The 1000th issue of SSO will be launched at Taylor Square from 6pm, Wednesday December 9.
