The Verses – Seasons
Some six years after their band Killing Heidi ground to a halt, brother-sister duo The Verses (aka Ella and Jesse Hooper) emerge with a new name, a new album and a new sound. Well, not exactly new: Seasons cribs heavily from the sounds of vintage Fleetwood Mac. Think Rumours, without the behind the scenes break-ups (they are brother and sister, after all). It’s hard to imagine this album will replicate the siblings’ chart-busting efforts in Killing Heidi — it’s a quieter, more relaxed collection that should find them a new, older audience.
