Top honour for Reverend
Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) leader Reverend Joy Etwell has been honoured by the Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) for her work following the 2009 Victorian bushfires.
Etwell received a Commendation for Service for her work in the Marysville district.
Etwell joined VICSES as a volunteer in 2002 while living in country Victoria.
She returned to Melbourne in 2007 and was offered a job as a clinical officer to give psychological support to SES volunteers.
She has since been appointed as the VICSES chaplains coordinator and also leads the MCC congregation in Burnley.
