The glitter has settled and the music has been turned down a little, and that’s just at my house. Mardi Gras 2011 has officially finished.

Thank God for that, till another year and another blister. And I say that with as much love as I can, but you get so busy, it’s great to stop and count your blessings.

This year was huge for me, completing a few goals, not only in my career but personally.

I have always had problems with my weight and body image. I’ve been on diets and in fitness routines over the years, but finally I have found something that’s working. My body and lifestyle have changed for the better. Not only am I healthier but I have a smoking hot body to boot.

I nervously said ‘yes’ to my friend, who had been raving about the Underwear party at 169 LIVE for months. Me in my underwear in public with all those gorgeous men around me! Taking the plunge, we bought our tickets and new underwear. We set off upstairs to the dark room, which seemed to be alive with bodies.

Soon I was semi-naked, stepping into the darkness. I felt uncomfortable for about 20 minutes, but my main concern was who was looking after my clothes — horror images of leaving the party in just undies.

I stayed till 3.30am, dancing around, watching private shows happening around the room. I’m not sure if an underwear party is my thing. It’s just like any other party really, just you bump into a lot more crotches — is that a bad thing though?

Andy of ToyBox fame asked me to perform the closing number for his final party. I hadn’t realised how huge it was till I arrived at Luna Park and walked down the stairs. Bound in a fully mirrored dress, I was in a harness and, to everyone’s surprise, taken up above the crowd. A million lasers pointing at me, the room erupted with cheers, streamers and glitter.

Portia Turbo looked after the show and was by my side the whole performance, making sure everything — including me — went to plan and was flawless. She did a perfect job.

I’m not sure where I can go from here, maybe for a well-deserved bed rest. Happy Mardi Gras for the last time, till next year.
