Have you always dreamed of revving up the Mardi Gras Parade route one year on the back of a motorcycle with the Dykes on Bikes?

The Star and Dykes on Bikes are giving you the chance to do just that this year.

The Dykes on Bikes have led the parade for nearly 20 years — and this year they are giving one lucky Star Observer reader the chance to join them.

But, there are some very important guidelines, so read on.

No, your gender doesn’t matter, but your weight does. For safety reasons, you will need to weigh less than 80kg. You will also need to make yourself available for a special pre-parade briefing session and practice ride to ensure your safety on the parade route. You will also need to adhere to the Dykes on Bikes basic club principles and ride rules.

And just in case you want a little bit more, we’ll also throw in a double pass to the Mardi Gras Party.

This year the Fox Studios event will feature DJ sets from Calvin Harris (Click HERE for more), Sveta, Feisty, Frankie Knuckles, Kate Monroe and Larry Tee — to name a few.

Check out the DJ line-up HERE — and remember, if you haven’t already booked your ticket, visit www.ticketek.com.au/Mardi-Gras and get yours now.

There’s already a slew of rumours going around about who is performing this year, including Rihanna, Wynter Gordon, Alexis Jordan and Ke$ha.

Then, if that weren’t enough, we’ll also be sending you to Sunday night’s Extra Dirty party at Q Bar and 34B.

Featuring DJ Javier Medina from Barcelona, plus a handful of local favourites like Feisty, it will prove the perfect way to cap off what is looking like one of the best Mardi Gras weekends Sydney has ever seen.

You can get your Extra Dirty tickets by heading to Spank, Hum or Bang Clothing.

And Happy Mardi Gras.
