Queer composer on song
Recent winner of a JD International Music Award for Best Instrumental composition, openly gay composer Yantra de Vilder (pictured, centre) will soon give Sydney audiences an opportunity to sample her prodigious skill. De Vilder will perform her original multimedia theatrical performance, Latitude 33, at the Avoca Beach Picture Theatre at 8pm on Saturday, June 26. She is the composer and creative director of the piece which links the musical cultures of Australia, South Africa and South America.
