Patrick White’s aunt
Coming up soon at Belvoir Street Theatre is Adam Cook’s adaptation of Patrick White’s 1948 novel, The Aunt’s Story. Theodora Goodman (Helen Morse), travels overseas after the death of her mother, first to a French hotel and then rural America. Her journey also takes her to the edge of her sanity, as she lives vicariously through the lives of others. This production premiered in last year’s Melbourne Festival and also stars Ralph Cotterill and Genevieve Picot. The Aunt’s Story runs from 14 August to 15 September and bookings can be made on 9699 3444 or at www.belvoir.com.
Support the Star Observer… while you still can
LGBTQIA+ media is under threat. Queer content is censored by tech conglomerates who amplify bigotry and push out AI slop — so we receive less financial support than ever.
When our community is muzzled and intolerance intensifies, we need queer media more than ever. Your donation means we can continue paying queer journalists to write queer news.
Don’t rely on the straight lies of big tech – support Star Observer instead and donate now.
