She will survive

She will survive

With a slogan of out-mime, out-dance and out-bitch, you know there are going to be fireworks from whoa to go. I am talking about Drag Survivor 4 being held every Sunday night at Arq nightclub. Drag Survivor has proven again and again that it can stand up to the best shows around town.
For all those who haven’t ventured out for a look yet -“ it is cold at the moment so I do understand -“ you maybe wondering what is involved. There are 10 baby showgirls who are all set challenges over numerous weeks and each week one is voted off. It’s very similar to the television show but no-one can really be hurt or starve to death (though looking at some of this years contestants that is debatable).
So who are the girls left? We have Benita, beautiful Sydney Novatel, Angela Dynamite (the name says it all), Tora Hymen (she has huge crowd support), Starr Michael (watch out for this one, she’s fabulous) and the girl with huge crowd support who I hope takes out the crown, Kimmi Kotchaneil.
The girls who have already been evicted are Sarah Topaz (that laugh!), Chandel Leah (haven’t seen her before) and Lisa I hope I look like Moggie Holmes.
I was lucky(?) enough to act as judge a couple of weeks ago with Wyness, Penny Clifford and Jimmy Dee. I was told it was charades night and, given an extensive movie list, the girls were soon put through their paces. Unfortunately most of them weren’t born when the selected movies were released -“ some were born 10 years after the movie had been released -“ so the challenge was extremely hard for most of them. Fumbling through them we finally ended up with a winner and it was time to vote and watch the previous week’s diary entries.
My goodness, the girls really did take the motto to heart with claws out and ready. Out-bitch was an understatement -“ they even made me laugh nervously.
Every Sunday you are able to see the Drag Survivor girls at Arq, so go down and cheer on your favourite. It has to be seen to be believed.

EYESPY Hurrah for the launch of DIVAs this Monday night 11 July at Stonewall Hotel. We will be able to get a look at the poster girl/s and find out all the juicy details of this year’s awards.
