The Sydney Food and Wine Fair comes of age in 2008, celebrating 18 years of introducing Sydneysiders to the very best in food, wine and entertainment.

The signature fundraising event for the AIDS Trust of Australia, this year’s fair will be held on Saturday 1 November in Hyde Park North.

Earmarked as a must-attend event on calendars each year, this year’s Fair will see the addition of the Vogue Entertaining + Travel produce market.

Combining premium offerings from Sydney’s finest food and beverage establishments and wineries alongside a produce market, the 2008 Fair is set to be bigger and better than ever.

With food and wine service from midday, the best of Sydney’s restaurants and Australian wineries including Cafe Sydney, Jonah’s at Whale Beach, Longrain, Quay, Guillaume at Bennelong, Bourke St Bakery and Scarborough Wines will be involved this year.

Jan McKenzie of Cafe Sydney said the Fair is a highly regarded, quintessential event and is one of the most renowned fundraisers across Australia, a testament to its success.

We are passionate about our involvement with the Sydney Food and Wine Fair, but the focus is on the fundamental aim of the event which is raising money for the AIDS Trust of Australia to allow them to continue their great work, McKenzie said.

The AIDS Trust Sydney Food and Wine Fair is a fan-tastic hospitality day which truly shows the powerful draw and unification en masse of what is viewed as a very competitive industry.

AIDS Trust CEO Nick Toonen said he was confident this year’s Fair would raise much-needed funds for HIV prevention, support, care and research.

The AIDS Trust of Australia is the national HIV/AIDS fundraising body and the Sydney Food and Wine Fair is our signature event. It’s a great day out for an even greater cause.

An exciting line-up of entertainment on the main stage will allow visitors to relax and while away the afternoon with a host of local performers and acts to continue the festivities.
