Singing sensation Susan Boyle will make her first trip to Australia in May for a promotional tour.

SuBo, as she has been affectionately dubbed, will perform ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ at the 2010 Logie Awards on Sunday, May 2 and ‘Cry Me A River’ on Hey Hey It’s Saturday on Wednesday, May 5.

“I am so excited about going to Australia. This time last year I never dreamed I would leave Blackburn, now I am travelling to the other side of the world,” SuBo said of her upcoming visit.

“Now that can’t be bad!  That I have been invited to perform on Australia’s biggest awards show is really something. I can’t wait to get there, to meet the people, to see the sights and to sing.”

Boyle’s debut album ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ is now over eight times platinum in Australia and held the number 1 position on the ARIA albums chart for a 11 consecutive weeks over the Christmas trading period. ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ also broke the record for the highest one week album sales in the history of the ARIA charts and was the number 1 selling album of 2009.

Internationally, ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ has sold more than 8.3 million copies and the album was the fasting selling debut album in the world by a female artist. The album broke the world record for the biggest pre-ordered album in Amazon history and in the UK was the fastest selling debut album in UK chart history.

It has been an amazing journey for Susan who first auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent in only April of last year. Her performance of “I Dreamed A Dream” from Les Miserables has now been viewed over 300 million times on YouTube!
