A festival at the end of the rainbow

This year’s Rainbow Festival is a week of events that bring together and celebrate the diverse GLBT community in the Hunter region.

On show from November 1 to December 20 is the Take me (OUT) Tonite youth art exhibition at the Loft Youth Arts & Cultural Centre, featuring photos by GLBT young people.

Wednesday 3 November is the official launch Comedy Night at the Gateway Hotel. Tickets are $20 (includes three course meal and the show) and are available from the Gateway Hotel.

Friday night is going to be huge, starting with Mixed Froots dinner at the Boulevarde on Beaumont and music by Beccy Cole. Tickets $60.

After dinner get your sparkly gear on for SILVER this year’s community dance at the Gateway Hotel. Entry is free, but if you dress in silver you could win some fantastic prizes.  The theme is silver for ACON’s 25th birthday.

Sample some of the Hunter’s world-famous wines on the Rainbow Festival Winery Tour, on November 6. Tickets are $65 from ACON Hunter.

LLINC are hosting a women’s dance on Saturday, November6, $10 entry with DJ Marina.

Short & Curlies is a fantastic evening of short queer films. Happening Saturday, November 6 from 8pm at the Ethnic Community Council Hall, Waratah. Tickets are $15/$10.

Spend November7  with hundreds of other GLBT people, their friends and family at the Rainbow Festival Picnic in Gregson Park Hamilton from 11am – 4pm.
