Volunteer call in Cairns
Over the past three years, Out! Cairns has been successful in providing a safe LGBT party space when there has often been no alternative. Having also raised approximately $8000 for community groups, now, Out! needs the community’s help.
For the group to continue, the organisation is calling for fresh blood to join the small group of volunteers that make up their operation. It can be as little as an hour a month, or slightly more in the case of the group’s secretary – a position that is currently not filled.
The monthly Out! nights were established by a group of volunteers who wanted to put on regular events and dance parties for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
This weekend, they’ll be holding their Wynter White party at The Heritage from 9pm.
If you’re interested in volunteering, you can email mquick@qahc.org.au or call 07 4041 5451 to chat to someone about what helping with Out! would entail.
