Dolly’s 9-5

Dolly’s 9-5

Hello everyone,

Well it’s December already, can you believe it? It’s time to think about who you wanna spend Christmas with. Every year I think I’m just going to pop over to Fiji and avoid all that family drama. Don’t get me wrong, I know I’ll miss them when they’re gone but I’m willing to take the risk. On a slightly more serious note – well, as much as I do serious – please buy a red ribbon for World AIDS Day to celebrate and commemorate this very special day.

Absolute Positive Party

CarriageWorks, Sydney

Saturday, December 1

Electronic music maestros Stereogamous present the Absolute Positive Party this Saturday night. It’s a World AIDS Day celebration with a kaleidoscope of colour, movement and great music.

It’s a welcome return for Stereogamous who’ve been very busy touring the globe with gigs in London, New York and Toronto to name but a few cities. They’ve played huge events as part of P-Town Bear Week, Folsom Street Fair and Trough Faggot Party. So, if you’re looking to let loose and you love great music then head on over to CarriageWorks.

It runs 7pm-11pm

Sundaylicious

Wharf Hotel, Melbourne

Sunday, December 2

If you’ve never been to Sundaylicious, then what are you doing this weekend? Back home in their favourite riverside playground, this crazy afternoon soon becomes one decadent night of fun. These girls (and boys) sure know how to let their hair down. It’s not hard to see why with DJs John Knap and Haylenise on the decks plus a welcome return for Freya (Krissie Zibell).

It’s a come as you are dress code and a leave your attitude at the door event for all the LGBTIQs out there. I’ve been to quite a few of these and I’m going along to this one to do a little meet and greet. Lock up your daughters – I’m on my way.

It runs 3pm-11.30pm.

Sportsman Hotel

Brisbane

Saturday, December 8

It’s that time of year again, the annual Miss Sportsman Hotel Pageant. Now in its 17th year and packing more of a punch than ever.

I love a good drag competition and this one has it all. It originated at the Terminus Hotel but has been at home at the Sportsman for some time now.

Hosted by the one and only Wanda D’Parke with the theme of ‘Cabaret’ this year, the girls are judged on performance and image – who isn’t? There are some great prizes and three shows throughout the night. Oh and who’s the special guest judge for the night?

Me! Yes, I’m coming to Brisbane to lend a hand and hopefully go on a park tour with Wanda.
