Carnival party update

Carnival party update

The Carnival is a new addition to the Mardi Gras family and is free for all parade participants, Mardi Gras volunteers and NMG members.
Straight after the parade on Saturday, February 27, up to 15,000 partygoers will be able to celebrate the night as the Carnival takes over the Show Ring, Forum and Dome at the Entertainment Quarter.
Confirmed DJs include DJs Francisco Guerra (San Francisco), Shigeki, Beatrix, Luke Leal, Alan T and Justin Scott.
New Mardi Gras has also announced that ANZ would be the presenting partner for the Parade Carnival as part of a broader partnership.
“With the parade and party on separate weekends we’ve had to look at the parade night afresh,” NMG CEO Michael Rolik said.
“Our objectives were to run an event that would be easy to get to after the parade, with a low ticket price, and the Carnival delivers on both of those.”

Support the Star Observer… while you still can

LGBTQIA+ media is under threat. Queer content is censored by tech conglomerates who amplify bigotry and push out AI slop — so we receive less financial support than ever.

When our community is muzzled and intolerance intensifies, we need queer media more than ever. Your donation means we can continue paying queer journalists to write queer news.

Don’t rely on the straight lies of big tech – support Star Observer instead and donate now.

  1. Nothing is free.
    Who is footing the bill?
How might paying for this event reduce any funding that Mardi Gras might otherwise raise for gay charities ?

There is nothing at all “fresh”, new or innovative about this approach to parade night. A parade then a party – who’d have thought?

    Give us a break!
