Gay rights before Stonewall

Gay rights before Stonewall

In the closeted USA of the early 1950s, ‘temperamental’ was code for ‘homosexual’, part of a language of secret words gay men used to communicate. Playing at Sydney’s New Theatre, February 7 – March 3, The Temperamentals tells the story of a couple who met and fell in love while forming the Mattachine Society, America’s first gay rights organisation.
