Killeen joins Women Say Something

The 10th panelist in the sell out Mardi Gras event Women Say Something – We Are Family has been announced as former Big Brother host and author, Gretel Killeen.

The speaking series hosted by DJ Kate Monroe takes panels of women who meet in the style of television show The View to talk, debate and ponder what really matters today in our many diverse communities and the challenges that women still face in overcoming adversity.

“It’s such a great honour to have Gretel join the Women Say Something family,” organiser Steph Sands said.

“Apart from her stint on Big Brother, Gretel has been a driving force in children’s literature for many years, and is a great advocate for women across the world including during her time as a UNICEF ambassador.

“It will be a fantastic night to see Gretel interact with our community, having meaningful conversations about family and health in front of a diverse audience.”

Killeen is the author of over twenty books and has written and directed works to raise awareness of AIDS orphans in Zambia, rabies control in India, unexploded ordinance in Laos and poverty in Bangladesh.

She is currently completing a feature film she has written and directed with Grod Productions, called Jimmy and Gret Don’t Do Sex.

There are still two final panelists to announce for the event.

Women Say Something – We Are Family is at Slide on February 22.
