US Ambassador headlines SGLBA dinner

US Ambassador to Australia The Hon. John Berry, has been announced as the keynote speaker at a Sydney Gay and Lesbian Business Association dinner to be held on International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.

The event will be held at The Grace Hotel in Sydney on the evening of Saturday, May 17 – the day of IDAHOT.

Ambassador Berry made headlines last year when he became the first openly-gay US Ambassador appointed to a G20 nation.

SGLBA president Mark Haines said: “We are so pleased to host Ambassador Berry and to have him engage so directly with members of Sydney’s LGBTQI community.

“We’re planning quite the night, and looking forward to welcoming both the Ambassador, and the community, to this event.”

Tickets for the dinner are now on sale: http://us5.campaign-archive1.com/?u=1901697c5d6a8fca09ca582e9&id=a940531a7f

LGBTQIA+ media is under threat. Queer content is censored by tech conglomerates who amplify bigotry and push out AI slop — so we receive less financial support than ever.

When our community is muzzled and intolerance intensifies, we need queer media more than ever. Your donation means we can continue paying queer journalists to write queer news.
