Bears go down in history
The Harbour City Bears will this week launch a published history of their group.
Written by historian Garry Wotherspoon, published by the Star Observer and supported by the Bookshop Darlinghurst, Hairy, Chunky and Gay: A History of the Harbour City Bears details the growth of the club from 1995 until the present day.
“It’s a very exciting milestone for our club that we?re able to launch a history book,” HCB president Jonny Bastin said.
“Garry Wotherspoon has done a great job in capturing the spirit and voices of the Harbour City Bears. Without him, plus the many members who sent in personal stories or photos, and the great support of the Bookshop Darlinghurst and the team at the Star Observer none of this would have been possible.”
