Bear Essentials, one of Sydney’s most popular gay festivals, will be launched on Thursday, February 25, at the Oxford Hotel.
Organised by the Harbour City Bears, the official Mardi Gras event has a fantastic prize pack for this year’s Bear Essentials raffle.
The raffle is a fundraiser for the charity Inspire, which works to improve young people’s mental health and prevent youth suicide.
The first place prize pack, valued at $2000, includes a return flight to Manchester for the Great British Bear Bash, the UK’s best Bear festival, in April 2010.
Other prizes include a double party pass to Bear Pride Melbourne and a three-night accommodation package at Melbourne’s Laird Hotel for the Anzac Day weekend.
There’s also a double party pass to Bear Pride, Sydney’s new woofy winter weekend festival in August 2010, valued at $150; an entertainment party pack featuring the latest CDs/DVDs, valued at $120; and a $100 dinner for two at the Lord Roberts Hotel restaurant.
Tickets are $5 and will be on sale at the HCB Fair Day stall as well as other Bear Essentials events. The prizes will be drawn on the Harbear Cruise on Saturday, March 6.
