Fundraiser for beautiful Cayte

Fundraiser for beautiful Cayte

Cayte Latta, journalist, photographer and regular on Sydney’s queer scene since the 1970s, has been in hospital since June battling multiple inoperable brain tumours.
Latta’s circle of friends have rallied around her, and have been working on a plan to help manage her life, including getting her out of hospital.
The plan is to provide Latta with in-home support from friends and significant professional care. The costs associated with this are high, so a benefit fundraiser has been organised at Slide Bar on Sunday, September 12.
From 6pm-10pm, punters can enjoy a diverse line-up of entertainment, including Prada Clutch (pictured), DJ Kate Monroe, Auntie Mavis, and some spot-on Julia Gillard, Susan Boyle and Dusty Springfield impersonators.
The centrepiece of the night will be a huge auction, with funds raised going directly to help Cayte.
Well over $10,000 worth of items have been donated for the auction. The items range from bottles of wine valued at $50 to work by renowned photographer William Yang valued at $700, and also include jewellery, haircuts, furniture, appliances and even a 2011 Mardi Gras party pack.

info: Tickets from Ticketek ($25 + b/f; search for ‘Cayte’) or on the door on the night ($30). More details at www.slide.com.au
