Learn your history
A conference looking at the history of the worldwide gay liberation movement will be held this Thursday, February 2.
The 90 minute event – After Homosexual: The Legacies of Gay Liberation – will be hosted by the Australian Lesbian and Gay Archives, La Trobe University and Victoria University for the Midsumma Festival.
The conference will feature a range of speakers, including well-known local author and academic Dennis Altman, leading UK gay historian Jeffrey Weeks (pictured) and American feminist academic and cultural historian Alice Echols.
On at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image from 6pm. Cost $17 or $14 conc + bf.
