Sergio’s a winner

Harbour City Bears member Sergio Carrero was picked up a$750 cheque last Sunday as his prize in the club’s membership badge draw.

Acting president Steve Naylor interrupted the afternoon’s fun at Bears On Sunday at the Lord Roberts Hotel to  make the presentation where Sergio acknowledged that his luck was due in part to his friend Andy.
The badge draw jackpots each week if the member isn’t present, and a week ago had reached $750 when Sergio’s number was drawn. Sergio had briefly left the hotel’s sundeck and didn’t hear the draw, and his mate Andy had to call him back upstairs to claim the prize.
The jackpot prize has begun to climb again, and will next Sunday be worth $100.
