Speak up on disability services

The Queensland Association for Healthy Communities (QAHC) is looking for LGBT community members with disabilities to take part in a community consultation session in Brisbane.

The ‘Have Your Say’ event will be an opportunity to discuss how services can improve things for LGBT people with disabilities.

QAHC is looking for ideas, stories, experiences, and suggestions about creating an inclusive service.

New training will then be offered to community, disability and health services throughout Queensland, with an aim to improve access to these services for disabled LGBT people.

Training and development coordinator Ricki Menzies said this was a first community engagement of its kind.

“Healthy Communities has a history of community consultation but this is the first time we have worked with LGBT people with a disability,” Menzies said.

INFO: The consultation is on April 23, 1-3pm at Healthy Communities, 30 Helen St, Teneriffe. RSVP by April 20 to [email protected]
