Three Sisters turns 30

The Blue Mountains-based Three Sisters gay and lesbian social group celebrates its 30th anniversary with a grand costume ball on the Queen’s birthday long weekend.

The black-and-white themed ball will be held on Sunday, June 12 at the Fairmont Resort in Leura from 7pm.

For $125 per ticket, guests will enjoy pre-dinner champagne, a three-course dinner (with BYO wine only and a full bar service at additional cost), live music by the band Catch 22, DJing by Sound Affair. Guests can enter the Grand Parade with prizes for best couple, group, table display, etc.  Group or individual bookings are available (tables seat up to 12), and accommodation on the resort is available.

People looking to participate in a less formal celebration can head to the Queen’s Birthday Weekend Disco and Talent Quest, to be held at the Blackheath Community Hall on Saturday, June 11, from 7.15pm. Entry ($20) includes a lucky door prize ticket and three tickets in a raffle to be drawn on the night.

If you enter the talent quest, you’ll also be in with a chance to win up to $150 in cash. Entrants should contact the committee by emailing Ron at [email protected]  People just wanting to watch the competition do not need to book.
