Bentstix needs chicks
Sydney’s Bentstix Hockey Club is currently on the lookout for women to boost its ranks for the 2nd Asia Pacific Outgames, to be held in Wellington, New Zealand in March next year.
The Bentstix women’s team won the bronze medal at the 2005 Euro Games in Utrecht and are hoping to add another medal to their collection in Wellington.
Training for the Outgames will start in the winter hockey off-season, so if you play for a Sydney club you can still join Bentstix to play in the Outgames.
This is also the perfect time for those wanting to give hockey a go or those who have experience and want to get back into playing.
Bentstix is aiming to assemble two female teams to compete against the New Zealand Hockey Heroes, Melbourne’s Parkville Women’s Hockey Club, and the London Royals from the UK. While the on-field competition is fierce, it’s also a great opportunity to meet other lesbian players from Europe and New Zealand in an international tournament.
