Burlesque boy

The Burlesque Effect, a new play by Wayne Tunks, premieres at the Newtown Theatre from July 21 to August 13. Set in the world of 1950s burlesque in Sydney, the play sees straitlaced suburbanite James falling victim to the seductive world of burlesque when he meets dancer Honey. Will he run away with her or stay with the wife who loves him? Throw in authentic 1950s sets and costumes, burlesque routines choreographed by Sydney burlesque performer Miss Sheena Miss Demeanour, and a very camp MC named Thomas, and you’ve got a hell of a show.
