Big Bang Theory star comes out
It might not be a shock to too many, but Jim Parsons, the break-out star of US sitcom The Big Bang Theory, has declared he’s gay and been in a same-sex relationship for 10 years.
The details of his personal life were casually mentioned in a New York Times profile of the actor discussing his performance on Broadway in the play Harvey.
His role as Sheldon on the hit show has earned him two Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe and a Critics’ Choice Award, but Parsons has also had an extensive career in theatre.
Parsons last year starred in the drama The Normal Heart , which followed the story of gay men dying from AIDS.
